Orkney is famous for the quality of its environment and richness of its heritage. The small, peaceful village of Finstown – where our Boathouse and Firth Bay Bungalows accommodation are located – is mid-way between Kirkwall and Stromness, Orkney’s two main towns. There is a shop, post office, pub, art gallery and riding school nearby.

Some of our customers’ favourites are the ancient monuments within the Heart of Neolithic Orkney World Heritage Site, close to Finstown. Here, you’ll see the enigmatic Stone Age monuments, testament to a lost civilisation. You can also visit the Ness of Brodgar, where archaeological digs are ongoing.

The Cuween Cairn, on a hillside above Finstown, commands a wonderful view across the Bay of Firth towards the North Isles – it’s well worth the effort!
